I just got done with a quick but pretty thorough remodeling and renovation of my longtime online building and remodeling friend and colleague Dan Kolbert’s website.
He found out his existing site had gone down because his hosting company upgraded the PHP they were running to version 6 and his site had some old code in it that was incompatible and once they rolled back his PHP version they told him he had 30 days to fix the code before they he would be put back on a server running the latest PHP 6.
So using SiteSucker I captured his existing website content and then produced a new WordPress website design for him utilizing that old content. While the Homepage and Projects pages and iconography are completely new designs I kept his old typography and deep brown theme for the background but put his content on a white background to make it easier to read and kept his green article header color too.
I’d like to see the brown background go to something textured but still dark brown like a canvas or stone texture and I think I would also like to see a darker forest green for the header color.
Anyway what do you all think of the website experience…and if you’re at all local to Dan up in Maine or just enjoy his thoughts on building science you can like his FaceBook page or follow his company over on Houzz.
